Kia Sportage has made its mark in the family friendly car segment among used cars Dubai. The latest upgrades made to its 2019 model have been revealed and like many others, Kia has also joined the race to make a top selling hybrid car. Along with a mild hybrid powertrain, it has also made subtle changes to the exterior and interior.
With minor changes to the exterior, it now has revised front and rear bumper fascias with redesigned ‘ice-cube’ head and tail lamps. The whole lineup gets fresh alloy wheels ranging in diameter from 16 to 19 inches. The GT-line gets a more noticeable revamp with a gloss black radiator grille, silver and gloss black skid plate coupled with dark chrome inserts on side sills and rear tailgate.
Moving to the interior, the 2019 Sportage has a new steering wheel and a revamped instrument cluster. The cabin will now have a two-tone, black and grey upholstery while the GT trim will have the options of red and black interior tones. Moreover, this latest model will be equipped with a 7-inch display screen. A choice of frameless 8-inch display will also be available.
Under the hood, Kia has replaced its 1.7L CRDi with its new 1.6L U3 CRDi along with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all wheel drive. Though, the most exciting update to the lineup is the V4 EcoDynamics+ which possesses a 2.0L diesel powertrain with a 48-volt battery. This turbodiesel will feature a mild hybrid powertrain cutting emissions by almost four percent. The new Kia will be available in either 113 hp or 134 hp. Let’s hope that this update complies with RTA’s Green Mobility Initiative.
Other important updates include the smart cruise control with a stop and go functionality, 360 birds eye view monitor to make parking easier, and Driver attention warning which will all add to the safety list of this new Kia. These functionalities will make driving through the more crowded streets of Old Dubai much easier, from Bur Dubai through to Karama.
This latest 2019 Kia Sportage will be available for sale in Europe in the third quarter of this year and will probably be available for sale in Dubai, UAE by next year.
