Genesis is the most credible new premium brand to arrive in the UAE in a generation, and its pitch is blunt: German-level materials and a longer standard equipment list for less money, backed by a warranty the established three do not match. What it does not yet have is their resale or their dealer footprint. Part of that is simply age: Genesis has only existed as a separate brand since 2015, so there is less used-market history to price against.
How much does a new Genesis cost in the UAE?
From AED 170,000 to AED 420,000 across the 2026 range. At almost every point on that scale the directly comparable BMW, Mercedes or Audi asks more before options, and the Genesis arrives with equipment those cars charge for. The saving is real at purchase; whether it survives to resale is the harder question.
Which Genesis models are sold in the UAE?
5 model lines — three saloons and two SUVs. The G70, G80 and G90 line up against the 3, 5 and 7 Series respectively, while the GV70 and GV80 cover the compact and full-size SUV positions. There is no small or entry car below them.
Genesis G80 or BMW 5 Series?
The G80 is the quieter and better-equipped car, with an interior that stands comparison with anything in the class and standard kit the German lists as options. The BMW 5 Series drives better, and it sells faster and for more when you come to move it on. That resale gap is the price of the equipment saving, and it is worth doing the arithmetic on before signing.
What is a Genesis like to own in the UAE?
Mechanically undemanding — the engines and platforms are shared with Hyundai's larger cars, so parts are neither exotic nor scarce. The honest caveat is the network: Genesis operates from far fewer points than the German brands do, so check where your nearest authorised service centre actually is before you commit, because you will be visiting it annually.
Is a used Genesis the better buy?
The value case is unusually strong. Because these depreciate faster than the German equivalents, a lightly used Genesis costs considerably less than a comparable BMW or Mercedes of the same age while carrying more equipment. Verify the service history has stayed inside the authorised network, then work through the used Genesis listings.
