\u2018Mitsu\u2019 means three in Japanese while \u2018Hishi (pronounced Bishi)\u2019 refers to a diamond or rhombus shaped water chestnut plant. The logo is actually a combination of two family crests. That\u2019s a new one!<\/span><\/p>\n

For Subaru, the sky’s the limit! And that sentiment is reflected in their logo as well. In Japanese language, Subaru means \u2018united\u2019 and is also the name for the Pleiades star cluster. It\u2019s visible in the night sky and has been guiding travelers for generations. The six stars in the logo might also represent the six companies that united to form Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru. <\/span><\/p>\n

As the story goes, the company was founded by the three Maserati brothers. So, it fell to the fourth brother to design the logos. Drawing inspiration from the statue of the Roman god Neptune in the Piazza Maggiore in Bologna, he went for a trident adding red and blue colors to acknowledge that city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Synonymous with sports cars and speed is this prancing black horse on a yellow background. The prancing horse emblem was used to honor WWI\u2019s heroic fighter pilot, Francesco Baracca who had the same logo on his plane. Enzo Ferrari, the famous Italian race car driver after whom the company is named<\/a>, painted this logo on his car as a good luck charm and later added the yellow background to symbolize his home city of Modena.<\/span><\/p>\n
