You might have spotted one in the cityscapes of the post-apocalyptic RPG series, <i>Fallout<\/i>. Instead of an internal-combustion engine, this concept car was supposed to be powered by a small nuclear reactor in the trunk. Good thing the idea was shelved once the dangers of radiation became common knowledge.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><b>Automatic Seat Belt<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2719\" src=\"http:\/\/65.1.85.58\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Automatic-Seat-Belt-495-x-330.jpg\" alt=\"used cars in Dubai\" width=\"495\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carswitch.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Automatic-Seat-Belt-495-x-330.jpg 495w, https:\/\/carswitch.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Automatic-Seat-Belt-495-x-330-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/>It may sound like a good idea in theory but in practice, it wasn\u2019t very useful. The automatic seat belt was affixed to the door frame so when the door was shut it would automatically fasten itself around the shoulder. In 1975, the Volkswagen <i>Rabbit<\/i> was the first car to feature it and the Toyota <i>Cressida<\/i> in 1981 included it as a standard feature. Unfortunately, the tech never caught on and only 55 <i>Turbine<\/i> were ever built. Most were destroyed but nine survived, and today, they are worth a fortune.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seems like hardly any of these technologies made a lasting impression but these <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/65.1.85.58\/newsroom\/car-technologies-dubai-residents\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">upcoming car techs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sound promising.
