Have you been a good car driver in Dubai, UAE? Have you been abiding by the traffic rules? If your answer to both those questions was \u201cYes\u201d, then we have some exciting news for you! Regardless of whether you are driving a new or used car in Dubai, UAE, if you have been following the traffic rules then you can expect to be rewarded with white points. Want to learn more? Read on.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the general department of traffic at the Dubai Police, the number of ideal drivers receiving white points will be increased from 1800 to 2000. White points are the Dubai Traffic Police\u2019s tokens of appreciation for drivers abiding by the traffic rules. The system was introduced five years ago to encourage safer driving. There are a number of ways to redeem the white points including cancellation of some fines. From the looks of it, the system has proved fruitful resulting in an increase of ideal drivers by 700 percent.<\/p>\n

Wondering how the system works? Here\u2019s the deal. The Dubai Police will patrol roads and monitor drivers to randomly select a driver who abides by the traffic rules. If the driver\u2019s traffic file is devoid of any violations in the past year, the undercover white points police will reward them. The police will also visit shopping malls and randomly check good drivers.Those with no traffic violations on their record will be rewarded with vouchers and certificates. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each eligible driver can receive a total of twelve white points a year, one credited at the end of each month. If you are involved in any accident during that time or commit a violation, you lose points. A driver earning points for five consecutive years will be eligible for an entry in the raffle draw. Last week, two lucky \u2018safe drivers\u2019 won a car each as part of the draw. If you abide by the traffic rules, you could be one of the winners next year, you never know! Bear in mind these <\/span>new fines<\/span><\/a>, though.<\/span><\/p>\n
