After being tested on a range of circuits, Aston Martin shared some pictures of the prototype version of the Valkyrie being driven on public roads. Even though avid fans have already seen the majestic car inside out, seeing it driven on public roads is a whole different experience. Chris Goodwin, Aston Martin\u2019s high-performance test driver, was seen at the wheel navigating through Silverstone circuits in Northamptonshire, England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason for so much hype over Valkyrie’s road test is that it\u2019s one of the car\u2019s first real-world tests. It has been developed and tested by the engineering teams at Aston Martin in partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies. Despite their deal to end racing in Formula 1, the two companies will continue their association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison to other production cars, it is almost half the height. In front of cars such as the Hyundai Kona, the hypercar doesn\u2019t appear any longer or wider. On public roads, the most \u2018alien\u2019 features would be its small cockpit, wave-like fenders, and rear-end diffuser openings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Power<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Valkyrie produces over 1,000 hp (745 kW) and over 11,000 rpm with power peaking at 10,500 revs. It is powered by a 6.5 litre V12 built by Cosworth. With the hybrid system set-up from Rimac and Integral Powertrain, it is predicted that the Valkyrie will take on much more power than before; a rough estimate is 160 hp (119 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speed and transmission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hypercar produces 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. It has a seven-speed automatic transmission which powers its rear wheels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seats & cockpit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been designed as a two-seater with a teardrop-shaped cockpit. The passenger seat has a naturally reclined position. You can say it resembles modern Formula 1<\/a> race car seats. There are two options for harness: a four-point which is standard, and a six-point which you can get on request. The colors for seat harnesses are available in six hues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The switchgear has been specifically designed on the steering wheel to minimize distraction for the driver. Moreover, the OLED monitor constantly displays the driver\u2019s vital signs. It also features a standard backup camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Infotainment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the standard hypercar, the infotainment screen is located at the center; while the AMR Pro has no screen to reduce its weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
