Groupe PSA, the owner of brands like Opel, Citroen and Peugeot, is merging with Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) which offers some awesome cars for sale in Abu Dhabi<\/a> like Maserati and Dodge. Together, they will become the fourth largest automaker in the world. Additionally, they will also be keeping all brands of both companies intact. CarSwitch.com digs into the details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The terms of FCA and Groupe PSA merger grant 50% of the equity to each company and is expected to save costs by almost \u20ac 2.8 billion. The merger between them will be done under the umbrella of a Dutch parent company. This company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report by Automotive News Europe, under this $50billion merger, all brands will be retained. Opel, Vauxhall, Citroen, Peugeot and a few others fall under Groupe PSA whereas FCA is the parent company to brands like Jeep, Dodge, Maserati and Fiat to name a few. As per the report, none of the 13 brands under both companies will be axed nor will there be any plant closures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the motive of the merger is to reduce costs and advance forward, we won\u2019t be surprised if some of these brands are dropped in favour of electric cars or low sales. After all, that\u2019s why some models have been discontinued for 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The merged company will become the fourth largest carmaker in the world just below Volkswagen Group and the two leading automotive giants, Toyota and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. This merger is expected to bring some major changes and this combined company has already been able to sell 4.2 million vehicles in the first half of 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
