Called the XC40 Recharge, the vehicle is basically an electric variant of the Swedish manufacturer\u2019s compact crossover. If you are planning to <a href=\"https:\/\/carswitch.com\/dubai\/used-car\/sell-your-car\">sell your car in Dubai<\/a> to buy this EV, be prepared to wait as it will not be available until late 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Volvo&#8217;s first EV looks like the standard XC40<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned before, the 2020 Volvo XC40 Recharge looks a lot like the combustion engine-powered XC40 with the exception of a few changes. For instance, the grille is now fully closed, except for a tiny slit towards the bottom. After all, an opening isn\u2019t really required anymore as there is no engine that will heat up. Because an electric powertrain occupies less space, some room has been freed for cargo, which is great news. The mirror caps, lower fascia, and the roof are all black. There will be a new color option called Sage Green. Other tweaks include the unique wheels and the badges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The battery can be charged 80 percent in just 40 minutes<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The XC40 Recharge features the proprietary Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform which was made from the ground up to support <a href=\"http:\/\/65.1.85.58\/newsroom\/best-electric-cars-buy-dubai\/\">electric vehicles<\/a>. A 78-kilowatt-hour battery underpins the car, allowing it to produce 402 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The car can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds, according to Volvo.&nbsp; With 150-kilowatt DC fast charging, the battery can be topped up 80 percent in only 40 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The automaker says the ride can achieve a 248-mile range under European WLTP testing. This roughly translates into 200 miles on the US cycle, if you are looking for EPA stats. However, the company says it hasn\u2019t finalized the EPA number yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"733\" height=\"393\" src=\"http:\/\/65.1.85.58\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/1-9.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11544\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carswitch.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/1-9.jpg 733w, https:\/\/carswitch.com\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/1-9-300x161.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 733px) 100vw, 733px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior of the XC40 Recharge is also inspired by other vehicles in the range. It features the Android-powered infotainment system and also supports Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store. Thanks to the possibility of over-the-air updates, you can expect the software to get new features in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The&nbsp; XC40 Recharge will arrive late next year<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The price of the XC40 Recharge hasn\u2019t been decided yet. According to the president and CEO of Volvo Cars USA, Anders Gustafsson, it will be in the range of $50,000 (AED 183,640). After its first EV goes on sale late next year, Volvo plans to launch a new all-electric model every year until 2025.
