Well, your wish just came true as Porsche announced that manual transmission will be available with 911 Carrera S and 4S coupe and cabriolet models. The Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S were revealed at the 2018 LA Auto Show. The Carrera S and 4S are equipped with a twin turbo 3.0L flat 6 engine which pushes out 443 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hardly any details were given about the manual transmission when the base Porsche 911 coupe and cabriolet were revealed<\/a>. So, this comes as a pleasant surprise for the true gearheads and Porsche fans. Sadly, this manual transmission will only be offered with Carrera S and 4S models from the lineup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can get your 911 Carrera S or 4S models with a 7-speed manual transmission for the same price. Moreover, all the manual 911s come with the Sports Chrono Package as standard. This package includes PSM Sport Mode, automatic rev-matching, Dynamic Drivetrain mounts and Porsche\u2019s mode switch on its steering wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porsche claims that the Carrera S with a manual can go from 0-60 mph in around 4 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. In comparison, the Carrera S paired with PDK transmission hits 60mph in 3.5 seconds. Carrera S with PDK and Sports Chrono Package makes it to 60 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 191 mph. This makes the manual transmission a little slower but it’s not about the speed, it’s about the fun, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This manual version of the legendary 911 is now available to order in the US, however, the cars will be delivered next year.
