This all-electric BMW Mini will be launched in March 2020. It uses the drive train technology that was made for the BMW i3. It has a 3-door body and the battery is placed on the floor, between the front and the back seats. The car offers a horsepower of 181bhp and a range of 144 miles on the WLTP cycle. Orders are now open and the price starts at £24,400.
Honda e
Honda e’s production model was first seen at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. This electric car is based on the Urban EV Concept that we saw in 2017. The production version is a 5-door model. It has an electric motor at the back which offers a power output of up to 113 kW and 315 Nm of torque. Moreover, Honda claims that the car can go from 0 to 62 mph in only 8.3 seconds. The 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack inside will offer a range of about 137 miles. The base model will cost €29,470. Deliveries will start next year.
Peugeot e-208
The Peugeot e-208 makes use of the e-CMP model for PSA’s new car platform. Combustion engine versions will also be available, and one of the differentiating factors between them and the electric model will be light blue detailing. The Peugeot e-208 will be able to go from a standstill to 62mph in 8.5 seconds. Inside, there will be a 50kWh battery pack that will give it a range of 200 miles. With a rapid charger, you will be able to juice it up to 80 percent of its capacity in only 30 minutes.
Renault Zoe
The Zoe features a large 52-kWh pack, allowing it to travel as far as 242 miles. The 2020 Renault Zoe’s new electric motor offers a horsepower of 134 and 245 Nm of torque. This mini EV can go from 0 to 62 mph in less than 10 seconds and it offers a top speed of 87 mph. Zoe will go on sale in the fall in Europe.
Volkswagen ID.3
The Volkswagen ID.3 is the new people’s car after the discontinuation of the beloved Beetle. The Volkswagen ID.3 might not be as small, but it’s reasonably priced, which makes it worth considering. Furthermore, the compact car is based on the latest MEB platform. Reservations for the launch model started back in May and deliveries will start in mid-2020. Volkswagen got 10,000 orders within 24 hours of the opening, which is quite impressive.
