Volvo has redesigned the roof on the electric XC40 Recharge SUV to form a more sleek 2022 C40 Recharge. This latest model shares many details with the XC40 Recharge such as standard All-Wheel Drive and all Electric powertrain (2 Electric motors offering a surprising 402 hp). Even the cabin is similar to XC40 such as Smart Google Android infotainment system, wise storage solutions and high seating position. A huge battery pack with 75 kWh of usable energy storage will be sufficient for approximately 210 miles of driving range on each charge.
The C40 Recharge will be ready for sale at the beginning of next year. The main rivals of this SUV are Mercedes Benz EQA, Audi Q4 e-Tron and Tesla Model Y. The customers should not expect to see this latest SUV at the local Volvo dealership lot because it’ll only be available through the online website. If you want to buy used Volvo cars in UAE, CarSwitch is the best place.

New changes for the 2022 years
Despite the similarities between the technical specifications and cabin layout of XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, it is the latest model in the Volvo lineup.
Pricing and which model to purchase
The sleek C40 is only available in luxury Ultimate trim which includes a 360 degree exterior camera, a panoramic sunroof and a Harman/Kardon sound system. If this isn’t enough, all the models of C40 will have 250 kWh of free charging through Electrify America.
Engine and Performance
The entire lineup will have 2 electric motors. One motor will be located at the back and the other in the front. Both the motors can offer 402 horsepower and it will be mated to an All-Wheel standard Drive. The brand claims that only 4.7 seconds is needed for the C40 to reach 60 mph. The same powertrain is available in XC40 Recharge.
Battery and Charging
Under the floor, there is a battery pack offering 75 kWh of usable energy storage. On each charge, 210 miles of driving range is offered. All the models of C40 Recharge will have 150 kW DC fast charging. This will boost the charging to 80% in only 40 minutes. 110 or 220 volt outlets are provided for charging at home.
Fuel efficiency
The EPA has yet to unveil fuel efficiency estimates. However, it is expected to be similar to XC40 Recharge which had 85 mpg in the city and 72 mpg on the highway.
Cabin and cargo
The interior of C40 Recharge is quite similar to XC40. This translates to a huge panoramic sunroof, a high seating position, premium materials for construction, upscale finishing, smart storage solutions in the interior and much more.
However, there will be no leather upholstery as the brand wants the C40 Recharge to be the first model without leather. Another unique aspect regarding the C40 Recharge is backlit trim panels located at the doors and dashboard which shine to showcase an abstract topography map.

Infotainment
In the standard features, gaining over-the-air software updates and the touchscreen infotainment system operating on Google Android system are offered. This intelligent system gives navigation by Google Maps and voice commands through Google Assistant.
Via the Google Play store, other applications can be downloaded as well. We expect to see the upscale Harmon/Kardon sound system and digital gauge display either in optional or standard gear.
Safety and Driver Assistance functions

- Standard semi autonomous driving mode and adaptive cruise control
- Standard pedestrian plus cyclist detection and automated emergency braking
- Standard lane keeping assistance and lane departure warning
Warranty and maintenance coverage
The automaker gives a comprehensive warranty coverage on the latest vehicles, consisting of a complimentary scheduled maintenance which covers 36,000 miles or 3 years. This new SUV is also available as a part of the Care by Volvo subscription service.
