The wait is finally over as the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe and Cabriolet models have been revealed. The 911 Turbo S is based on the new “992 Series” platform. The German manufacturer claims that the premium GT sports car is the most powerful, quickest, and fastest 911 Turbo in 46 years. The experts at CarSwitch, an online marketplace for certified cars for sale in Abu Dhabi, did some research to share the details.

Performance

The car is underpinned by a rear-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine, enabling it to produce 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. The improved performance is because of the 14 percent larger variable-turbine-geometry (VTG) turbochargers which have a new air-cooling system and electrically adjustable wastegates. The new Turbo S also gets an exclusive eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox.

The 911 Turbo S can go from a standstill to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and the Cabriolet sprints to the same speed in 2.7 seconds. The 911 Turbo S can run the quarter-mile in only 10.5 seconds, and it can go from zero to 124 mph in only 8.9 seconds. The top speed is 205 mph.

The all-wheel-drive system of the car is managed by the proprietary Porsche Traction Management (PTM) which continuously works to adjust the power rear and front based on the requirements. The car also features a Wet Mode, which utilizes acoustics to gauge if the road is damp. The electronic system adjusts the stability control and ABS when moisture is detected and also warns the driver.

Compared to the previous models, adaptive dampers are smarter and respond more quickly. The size of the standard carbon-ceramic brake rotors has also increased. The car also gets wider front and rear tracks, and this should further help with stability and traction. The car itself is wider than its predecessor and this, along with modified track widths and optimized aerodynamics, will give it more sportiness and agility. The adaptive cooling air flaps at the front and the larger rear wing will also contribute to the aerodynamics and downforce.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard and it controls the firmness of the dampers. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) Sport is optional and it includes a lower ride height compared to standard PASM. A Sport Exhaust System, which is identified by oval tailpipes, is optional too.

Exterior

When it comes to looks, this is a burly car, featuring staggered 20 and 21-inch centre-lock wheels that are hidden by muscular fenders. The rims are outfitted with sticky rubber which has grown proportionally. The front fascia looks distinctive, thanks to the LED Matrix-design headlights, dual front light modules m and wider air intakes at the front.

Interior

Full leather upholstery and carbon-fiber trim are standard. The infotainment center features a 10.9-inch touchscreen. The new models also feature 18-way Sport Seats Plus, Bose audio, GT Sport Steering wheel, and Sport Chrono.

The 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe will cost $203,500 (Dh747,500), and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet will set you back $216,300 (Dh794,500).
