Car enthusiasts, get ready to be awestruck! The latest Porsche 911 Speedster is going into production this year after a gap of 9 years. Being one of the most highly-acclaimed sports coupe, it is set to amaze you with its flair and quirks. Among the impressive cars from the 2019 New York Motor Show is the one and only, 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster. This new model is in swooping celebration of Porsche 70th birthday and also marks the end of the current 991 generation. The 992 will be reaching showrooms next year.
The new Speedster gets the best features of 911 Carrera Cabriolet and Porsche 911 GT3. Adding to its charm, it has a manual convertible roof, a carbon fiber rear and front bonnet and for the true gear-heads, a manual transmission only.
Additionally, this 911 has 20-inch bespoke center lock wheels along with a mounted bonnet. Tinted day-time headlights, ‘Talbot’ exterior mirrors and a double bubble rear deck.
This limited edition 911 is powered by a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six powerhouse which churns out 503 hp and 346 lb-ft torque. It is mated with a six-speed gearbox and has incorporated individual throttle bodies to raise throttle response. It covers 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds and tops off at 309 kph. Moreover, this sassy coupe has the new titanium exhaust system for this speedster which allows a little more brake horsepower.
To keep it light, carbon fiber is a major part of the exterior but that’s not all. On the inside, its gets a very basic black interior. There is no standard air-conditioning to make it as light as possible. Although, we have no official figures yet, this Porsche has shed off some weight.
What’s more cool is that Porsche will also offer a ‘Heritage Design Package’ to make it more exclusive for enthusiasts looking to grab one. Unfortunately for them, only 1948 units will go on sale as it pays homage to Porsche 356 produced in that year.
Porsche has made this car with a combination of paying homage and celebrating its birthday. So of course, it is going to be one hell of a car.
