One of the few free public parking zones is no longer free for used cars Dubai. That’s right, Barsha Heights formerly known as TECOM will now have paid parking. Here is the latest scoop by CarSwitch.com on this matter.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a pact with Barsha Heights. It has been marked as a zone ‘A’ which has the highest parking surcharge.
Car owners of used cars Dubai who will park in this area will now be liable to pay AED 4 per hour and AED 2 for half hour. From Saturday to Thursday, these charges will apply from 8 am to 10 pm with the exception of official holidays.
Most public parking spaces are paid in Dubai, UAE now with charges being raised by RTA. The previous free parking time slot of 1pm to 4pm was also abolished by the RTA.
Seasonal parking cards are accepted in this parking zone though with the rising costs of parking, the UAE-made E-bus might have to comes out sooner and residents might consider selling car and using public transportation.
According to RTA, the motive behind this is to improve rotation of the parking slots in popular areas so that maximum number of users are able to make use of the parking spaces.
Barsha Heights supports the vision of RTA and thus made this deal. The vision is to ease the life of Dubai residents and make more parking spaces available.
It is debatable as to whether it makes the life of owners of used cars Dubai easier or not. Although, people might consider switching to electric cars to take advantage of the eco-friendly parking spaces.
