Maserati is equipping the Ghibli sedan with a hybrid powertrain. This is the company’s debut electrified car and it features some styling updates too. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace to sell any car in Abu Dhabi, did some research to share the details with you.
Ghibli Hybrid Engine And Performance
The Ghibli Hybrid features a 48-volt hybrid powertrain and it boasts regenerative-braking capability. It is basically a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that features an electric supercharger. The 2.0-liter unit is the same that we saw on the Alfa Romeo Giulia and it has been redesigned completely for improved power and torque. The only things which were not altered are the dimensions and part of the cylinder head.
The car can generate 325 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque and power is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The Italian automaker claims that the car can sprint from zero to 60mph in 5.7 seconds and it offers a top speed of 158 mph. The company also claims that the Ghibli Hybrid will reduce consumption and emission, which doesn’t come as a surprise. To be more specific, it generates 25 percent less CO2 than the V6 Ghibli.
There are two trim levels, GranSport and GranLusso, with the former having sporting ambitions and the other going big on luxury.
Ghibli Hybrid Exterior And Interior
The carmaker has gone with a light-blue hue to identify its vehicles that flaunt the hybrid technology. It can be found on the brakes, the side air ducts, and the trident logo on the back pillars on the Ghibli hybrid. Hybrid variants also have a thinner front grille design and revamped tail lights.
The light blue color is also carried over to the interior and can be seen on the embroidered seams of the car’s seats. The Ghibli hybrid also comes with a new 10.0-inch touchscreen with the new proprietary Connect program which promises over-the-air updates and also monitor’s the ride’s safety. There is also a new Maserati Connect app to help you stay connected to the vehicle and keep an eye on software updates.

The 2021 Ghibli hybrid will replace the diesel variant and it will be available in select markets. Manufacturing is slated to begin in the second half of the year and the car will likely go on sale by the end of 2020. Some of the car’s styling and tech might also make their way to the Levante and Quattroporte. They will be launched in September alongside the MC20 supercar. Then, in late 2021, Maserati will likely launch its first EV, the GranTurismo.
That’s all we know about the car right now and more information should surface as the launch inches closer. Maserati wants to electrify its entire fleet and the current plan is to update or redesign all the vehicles by the end of 2023.You can sell any car in Abu Dhabi by logging onto CarSwitch.com and as we make the car selling process simple and easy so that you can do it from the comfort of your home.
