SUVs are the vehicles of choice for those who have a big family and want to commute to different places quite often. Such cars are also an ideal pick for long-range travel destinations. However, what do you get when you want to sell your car to buy an SUV that won’t take up too much space and is still sufficiently roomy to carry several passengers? A compact SUV, and that is exactly what Kia is going for with the 2020 Kia Seltos.
Seltos Offers The Best Of Both Worlds
Though it is designed for specific markets, the 2020 Seltos will cater to a lot of customers who want to travel longer distances, have more members to carry, and doesn’t take up more space in the process. That’s not all, because the latest unveiling from the South Korean automaker packs a boatload of features, which you’ll get to know very quickly.
What started out as a concept back in February of last year has finally been materialized and for the better. With the announcement of the 2020 Seltos, Kia is not just expected to tap into the UAE compact SUV market, but the company will also attempt to tackle the Indian market. Let us talk about the features now.
At the front, you have a combination of both fog lamps and LED headlamps, meaning in areas where there’s little to no surrounding lights, you’ll be able to traverse comfortably. At the rear side, you get a full set of LED lights, with the top-tier GT Line giving you 18-inch tires. Sadly, Kia is yet to release press images of the interior of the 2020 Seltos, but according to the information we know, the add-ons sound very promising. A very generous 10.25-inch screen with touch capability is present for infotainment purposes, and if you have the cash to splurge, you can get the 8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) too.
No infotainment system will be complete without a stellar audio system and with the Seltos, you’ll be greeted with eight of them belonging to Bose. In terms of what variants to choose from, there are three engine and four transmission ones. The first one can be a 1.6-liter one, a 2-liter aspirated petrol version, or a 1.6-liter engine that consumes diesel. As for the transmission choices, you can either get a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch, or a continuously variable transmission (CVT) type.
Three Driving Modes Are Being Offered
There will be three driving modes to choose from, and they are Normal, Eco and Sport. Eco will consume the least amount of petrol, which will be ideal for travelling long distances without a visible pit stop or checkpoint. When it comes to delivery, the 2020 Seltos will start being sold in select markets by the end of 2019. Kia might not have divulged info if this model will specifically be sold in the UAE, but we certainly hope this is one of the automaker’s target markets.
