Good news for owners of new and used cars in UAE! You can now renew your vehicle registration online easily through the RTA website.
If your vehicle is awaiting registration, you don’t have to delay it in these challenging times. You can complete your registration process on RTA’s website in a few minutes. The process is simple and hassle-free. Moreover, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there is no need to get your car inspected currently. You can also sign up on the RTA app to complete the registration process.
Insurance is required
A valid car insurance certificate is required and you will also need a credit card to make the payment.
The traffic code number, which is written on your driving license or registration card, will be needed to take a printout of the renewed vehicle registration.
How to renew your vehicle online
- Open the RTA website and search for “renew vehicle registration”.
- Look for your vehicle and enter in the details; your plate number and vehicle category
- Select delivery method
- Confirm
- Pay using your credit card
The total registration cost for a vehicle is AED 380, which includes AED 350 for renewal fees, AED 20 for knowledge fee, and AED 10 for sticker fees. If the registration is done late, fine charges would be added in the final payment.
One factor to take into account is that the registration card is an “e-license” and can only be printed online. At the moment, it can’t be delivered by a courier or printed at a kiosk.
According to the RTA, e-license is the only available option now and a hard copy of the registration card can’t be made available and neither is it needed.
