Remember we told you about Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars featuring the fastest police car in the world? Well, now we have some more exciting news! It turns out that this city of supercars has the fastest first response emergency vehicles in the world too and they are quicker than most used cars in Dubai. Curious yet?
The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) had added five more vehicles to its ambulance fleet. Dubai, UAE is already famous for its fast cars and now it boasts the world’s fastest rescue cars as well! These include two Ford Mustangs, a Nissan, a Lotus Evora, and most notably, a Dodge Challenger.
Each of these cars can carry two paramedics and comes equipped with CPR equipment, defibrillators, blood pressure and diabetes monitors, and medication for fractures and injuries. The idea behind this initiative is to reduce the time that conventional ambulances take to reach the scene of an emergency.
According to Khalifa bin Derai, Executive Director of DCAS, it is not just a means of transporting the patients fast but can actually act as a moving hospital. It is operated by qualified paramedics and an emergency technical team and is clearly well-equipped for the role.
As a start, the ambulances were deployed at important tourist sites and near venues hosting big festivals and conferences. They are capable of handling not just first-aid scenarios but also serious injuries.
Their speed doesn’t exactly guarantee an ability to move fast through traffic. But we are hoping that when it comes to petrolheads, the roar of an approaching V8 muscle car should be enough to make them feel better 🙂
