Although the 1930s were testing times, such as the after-effects of the World War 1 and untreatable diseases, the car industry still managed to come out with iconic cars that are still remembered today.   1. 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton

This luxury car was made by the Cord Automobile and it was the first front wheel drive car with independent front suspension made in the United States. With its black and brown paint job and white-wall tires, it was one of the coolest cars during that period.

  1.  1933 Chrysler CL Imperial Dual-Windshield Phaeton

First released in 1926, a good many years were spent to improve the design of the 1933 Chrysler CL Imperial Dual-Windshield Phaeton. And a decade of hard work surely did pay off, as the outcome was a stylish car with two windscreens, and a silvered grille. It was one of the best-engineered cars of its era and apparently fewer than 20 survivors exist today.

  1.  1935 Lincoln K Convertible Roadster

The Lincoln K series was a line of luxury automobile made by Lincoln from 1930 to 1940. The 1935 model was greatly trimmed and its sales were limited because of the $4,000 price segment, as it was not within the reach of most people, thanks to the depression. That being said, the car was a looker and it was a true 30s four-wheeler.

  1.  1931 Cord L-29 Cabriolet

This American classic is still known today for its design and engineering. It was also the first American front-wheel-drive car that was sold to the public. Its red color was a head turner. The car was low in height, featured comfortable interiors, and provided spacious seating.

  1.  1939 Cadillac Series 75 Convertible Coupe

The Series 75 was Cadillac’s  only V-8-powered model in the 1939. Since only 27 models of the car were made, the convertible coupe was really rare and reportedly only 5 of them have survived. The car featured semi-custom bodies and a limousine-length chassis and it could easily fit 4 people.

  1.  1934 Packard Twelve Individual Custom Convertible Victoria

It was one of the four Custom Convertible Victoria’s made by Dietrich Inc on the 147-inch 1108 wheelbase. Powered by Packard’s 473-ci V12, the car was pretty big, and is still remembered today for its iconic, regal design.

  1.  1937 Jaguar SS 100 3.5-litre Roadster

This is a British 2-seat sports car that was made between 1936 and 1941 by Swallow Sidecars. The iterations of the car manufactured after March 1945 were called Jaguar Cars Limited.  Now that you know that the ‘SS’ moniker came from the original owners, you might also be interested in knowing that the 100 in the name was the whip’s top speed.
