Although new cars are usually more popular, classic cars have their own charm. In fact, they are such prized possessions that the price of some iconic cars have actually gone up, which is nothing short of remarkable. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace for certified used cars in Dubai, have compiled a list of some of these classic vehicles.
- 1955 Ford Thunderbird
The first generation Ford Thunderbird is a two-seat convertible and first made a debut back in 1955. Ford called it “a personal car of distinction” and it is one of the most iconic cars in America. The car is more of a luxury tourer than a sports car. When it was introduced, it carried a price tag of $3,400. If you want it now, you will have to shell out around $85,000. This only goes on to show that people have grown to love the car even more.
2. 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28
The 1967 Camaro has the same semi-unibody design as the 1968 Chevy II Nova. The Z/28 was one of the three main packages offered and it turns out that the variant is still quite popular today. The iconic muscle car’s value has gone up from the original price of $3,200 to around $90,000.
3. 1968 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi
The car was stylish and sporty, offering something new, without being too eccentric. For its time, the car was also full of features aimed at performance-minded consumers. The aerodynamics of the car was well ahead of the time, with the design approach becoming kind of mandatory for modern racing cars. Proud owners of the beautiful muscle car will be happy to know that it’s value has appreciated from $4,000 to around $140,000.
4. 1958 Fiat 500
The car features a powerful engine and a two-tone livery. It also got an all-metal rigid roof that featured three longitudinal grooves. For that time, the car offered a very respectable horsepower. Compared to other cars on this list, this is a noticeably compact vehicle. And despite its small footprint, it has managed to remain popular still, with the value going from $3,000 to around $30,000.
5. 1966 Ford Bronco
This car was made as an off-road vehicle (ORV) and was intended to compete with the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout. Size-wise, this is a compact SUV. Although Bronco’s sales did take a hit after the introduction of SUVs offering improved on-road capabilities, it’s still a well-loved car. This can be ascertained from the fact that the value has risen from $5,000 to around $40,000. However, for those who plan on buying the Bronco, be prepared to spend more money on the car to get the most out of it.
