What’s New in the 2022 Audi A6?

Audi introduced some nice interior and exterior upgrades. On the outside, the new wheel design is quite beautiful and style package offering. An upgrade in the interior is mainly of the screens, a 10.1 infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch gauge display in the Premium trim.  In the safety, they have added rear side airbags, a great addition because it provides you with much-needed safety against potential side accidents. Independent tire pressure monitoring has also been upgraded. RS6, the high-performance variant of Audi A6, has dynamic ride control suspension as well.

Engine

The Audi A6 comes in two engines. The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder produces 261hp power and 271 lb-ft torque, which is aided by the electrical system (12-volt Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology with recuperation). The 2.0L goes from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, has a fuel economy of 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

The more powerful is the V6, which produces 335 hp power and 369 lb-ft torque. It is also connected to the same box. Both engines are mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. It hits 60 mph in just 5 seconds, has 22 mpg fuel economy in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

The S6 trim comes with a 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 producing 444 hp and 443 lb-ft torque, which goes to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. The mileage is 18 mpg and 28 mpg in city and highway respectively.

The most premium trim, the RS6 has a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine which produces 591 hp power and 590 lb-ft torque, goes to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, and has a fuel economy of 15 mpg and 22 mpg in city and highway respectively.

Safety Features

One of the most important aspects is the safety of the car, and Audi A6 doesn’t disappoint at all. It comes with all the standard safety features, including high-intensity discharge headlights, an Active Lane Departure warning system, a rear and front parking camera to give you a full 360-degree view of the vehicle, and a low tire pressure warning system. It offers you more safety features with “The Driver Assistance Package”.

The Driver Assistance Package offered in the Audi A6 includes Audi Active Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop/Go functionality, Audi Pre Sense Plus, and Top View Camera System. These systems work together to give you the most information possible and help you to be the best driver possible with all of that information.

Interior Spacing and Cargo

The Audi A6 has excellent seating and spacing, is a 5-seater sedan, and provides all the luxuries that the buyer would want in the design, you feel very comfortable when traveling because it gives you enough space to stretch your legs seating at the back. Audi A6 provides rear legroom of 37.4 inches as compared t0 36.5 of BMW 5-series, though the front-legroom measure is 41.3 inches, one less than the 41.4 inches of 5-series but is smaller by just 1 inch. The front-row headroom is 38.0 inches and 38.1 inches for second-row headroom.

The Trunk space is 13.7 cubic feet, more than the Mercedes’ 13.1. You can easily carry two golf sets in the trunk. The rear seats can also be folded to make more space. The cabin storage is decent enough as well.

What does S6 and RS6 Provide

If you are a Sporty, Audi A6 provides you with two solutions, S6 and RS6. The S6 is a sedan that packs a twin-turbocharged V-6, making 444 hp. The chassis is re-worked for better handling, and the rear bumper features Audi’s trademark quad exhaust tips. The RS6 comes with a 590-hp twin-turbo V-8, available hydraulic shock absorbers, and massive carbon-ceramic brakes for supercar-rivaling performance. But it can’t be had as a sedan. The RS6 is only available as an Avant, Audi’s term for a station wagon. The point is, the RS6 hauls a lot more than cargo.
