There is a new entrant in the crossover-SUV market: the 2020 Kia Seltos. It competes with the likes of Mazda CX-3 and Hyundai Kona. The experts at CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace for certified used cars in Abu Dhabi, did some research to share details for the 2020 Kia Seltos.
Engine and Performance
The car is available in three engine variants. The one with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine inside delivers 175 horsepower, while the version with a 2.0-liter engine churns out 147 hp. The third one has a turbodiesel 1.6-liter that offers 134 hp.
There are three automatic gearbox options: a six-speed auto, a seven-speed, dual-clutch auto, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The vehicle also has a Drive Mode Select system with Eco, Normal, and Sport modes.
On the technological front, the Seltos has some nifty features to assist you while driving. It has the Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist that automatically stops the SUV if needed when a vehicle is detected entering from the side when you are reversing. Another useful feature is the Safe Exit Alert that warns you of traffic before you open your door to step out.
The ride also has a lane-keep assist system and adaptive cruise, which Kia believes is so good that you can keep your hands off the driving wheel for a while.
Exterior
The car measures 4370mm bumper-to-bumper and has a 2630mm wheelbase. The Seltos is heavy on the SP Signature concept and boasts boxy proportions that are complemented by a new grille which is mated with LED headlights. The body features sharp lines and creases that go all the way to the back of the SUV. The tailgate has a chrome strip that blends with the LED tail-lights and the vehicle also flaunts stacked LED fog lamps.
Interior
The cabin is pretty spacious, with plenty of legroom and boot space, and features a chic design. Inside, there is a 10.25-inch infotainment display that runs the proprietary UVO system. It is compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other than that, there is also an 8-inch gauge cluster that works in conjunction with an elevating HUD.
