The auto industry seems to be flooded with SUVs, electric cars and crossovers. To prove that the A-segment isn’t dead yet, Hyundai is trying to do something different. It unveiled the 2020 Hyundai i10 and i10 N-line at the recently held Frankfurt Motor Show. These are perfect for those who want to sell car in Abu Dhabi for a spirited hatchback. CarSwitch.com gives you the details.
Entering its third generation, Hyundai i10 has become an accomplished small hatchback over the years. The i10 packs a 1.2L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine under the hood which pushes out 83 hp. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a little more oomph, you can opt for i10 N Line which is powered by a turbocharged 1.0L engine with 99 hp.
Its Europe version will have a 6-speed manual transmission. With a car like this, weight is an important factor, the regular i10 weighs 2,061. However, the figure for N Line is still under wraps but is anticipated to be similar to its base version.
The i10 looks more athletic with its sporty bumpers and a unique new front grille. It also has new stylish 16-inch alloy wheels which are exclusive to this variant. A rear diffuser and a dual tone roof add to the appeal of the new i10. The athleticism is not confined to the exterior only. On the inside of the i10 N Line, it gets sporty pedals, higher seats and a steering wheel and shift know exclusively for this variant. With such improvements, this car might soon top the list of the hottest hatchbacks you can buy!
The i10 also sports an improved cabin compared to the outgoing model. It gets an 8 inch infotainment system which dominates the dash with physical shortcut keys around the panel. It comes with the Bluelink telematics app which allows users to connect their smartphones to the car, with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available. This surely gives it an upper hand over others in this segment.
Safety features for the new i10 include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist which employs a multi-function camera to detect cars as well as pedestrians in front of the car. Moreover, high-beam assist, Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Intelligent Speed Limit Warning (ISLW) and Driver Attention Warning (DAW).
This new Hyundai will be available for sale in Europe next summer and as of yet, we’re not sure when and if, it will makes its way to the UAE.
