Asking prices across our UAE listings run from AED 77,000 for a car a couple of years old up to AED 77,000 for a current-year one. The useful number is the gap to new: a used CX-30 costs about 19% less than a new CX-30 — a narrow discount for this class.

The bodywork is remarkably clean for this market. Only 12% of the CX-30s we inspect in the UAE show evidence of prior body or panel repair, against the 35% we would expect for small SUVs of the same age and mileage in the country — these are young, mostly single-owner cars at a median of about 34,000 km. Nothing else stands out, so the report is mostly about confirming which of the cheaper listings has been looked after.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is priced alongside it with more space, but 68% of the ones we inspect carry prior body or panel repair against the 61% expected for its age and mileage group. The Honda CR-V is the more practical family car, though it keeps less at about 49% and 26% show a mechanical fault against 19% expected for the same group.

Any of them, which is unusual. The CX-30 launched for 2020 and has run since without a generation change — revisions went to equipment and driver aids, not platform or engine. The oldest car you can find is mechanically the newest, so trim level spreads the price further than model year.

Above average for the class — about 60% of its value after five years, against roughly 55% for small SUVs in the UAE and 53% across used Mazdas.
