The IS350 is the rear-drive, V6 Lexus saloon — the compact one aimed at a 3 Series rather than an E-Class, and the only car in its class that never swapped its naturally aspirated engine for a turbo.


What to inspect on a used Lexus IS350

  • Tyres — matched, and dated within a few years on a low-mileage car.
  • Service history for oil intervals rather than mileage totals.
  • Brake discs, which corrode on cars that sit.

Expect between AED 36,000 and AED 99,000 across our current listings, which are recent, low-mileage cars. Specification and colour move the money on this model as much as the year does.

Nothing at all in the category that usually costs money: not one of the Lexus IS350s we inspect in the UAE shows a mechanical fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, against the 19% we would expect for saloons of the same age and mileage here. That result holds at a typical 100,000 km, which is where a turbocharged German rival starts presenting bills.

The Mercedes C300 undercuts the Lexus and has the nicer cabin, though it retains 50% against the IS350's stronger figure. The BMW 530 is a class larger for a little more money and inspects well on bodywork, at 52% previous panel repair against a 64% expectation for its group — take it if rear-seat space matters. The BMW 318 is the cheapest way into the segment and the slowest.

2021 onwards if you want the current look. The IS has been one generation since 2014, tidied in 2017 and then substantially rebodied for 2021 with wider tracks, new panels front and rear and a reworked chassis — the same car underneath but a noticeably better one to drive. Because the platform never changed, an earlier IS350 is a cheaper route to the identical drivetrain.
