Kia became a default UAE family choice by doing the ordinary things well: seven seats when you need them, a long equipment list, and servicing that is never a problem to arrange. The range here leans to SUVs and people carriers. We have 71 used Kias listed.

How much does a used Kia cost in the UAE?

Our UAE listings span AED 13500 for an early-2010s car to AED 113000 for a current-year one. Compared at one age the family cars sit close: among 2019 cars a Sportage sold at AED 35,000 and a Sorento at AED 31,000, and a 2018 Rio went for AED 22,000. Newer cars move up sharply — a 2022 Sorento sold at AED 73,000 and a 2024 Seltos at AED 63,000. Note too that the Carnival's latest generation was restyled to look far more like an SUV than a van, which has widened who considers it.

Are used Kias reliable?

Mechanically they come through the workshop without drama; it is the cabin that gives up first. Across more than 1,900 Kias we have inspected in the UAE, at a median of 126,000 km, 34% showed interior staining, against the 30% we would expect for cars of the same age and mileage here. That is family use and Gulf sun on light trim, not a fault, and a negotiating point rather than a reason to walk. Read the interior section of the CarSwitch report, then use it on the price.

Do Kias hold their value?

Middle of the pack, which is why the two-to-four-year-old cars are the value in the range: Kias average about 49% of their value after five years across the models we can measure.

Which used Kia should you buy?

The Sportage is the one to start with — the broadest choice of ages, and the cheapest of the SUVs to run. Step up to the Sorento for a proper third row, or the Carnival if you carry people daily and want sliding doors. The Seltos is the smaller crossover for city driving; the Rio if the budget decides.

Kia or Toyota?

Toyota keeps more of its value and will always be easier to sell; Nissan matches Kia on price but rarely on equipment. Kia's case is a newer, better-specified car for the same outlay.
