Any 2021 to 2025 car is the same generation, so there is no earlier shape to avoid. Choose on trim and the 2.7-litre V6 versus the smaller four-cylinder rather than chasing a particular year.

The Jeep Wrangler is the direct rival and costs less to buy. The Nissan Patrol Safari is far cheaper and just as capable off-road.
