The 2023 facelift brought the split-headlight face and a revised dashboard; if that look does not appeal, the pre-2023 car is both the one you want and the cheaper one.

Bodywork is where it scores: only 22% of the BMW X7s we inspect in the UAE show evidence of prior body or panel repair, against the 49% we would expect for large SUVs of the same age and mileage here. These are low-mileage cars driven gently, so the risk sits in deferred servicing rather than crash history.

Decide whether you need the third row. The BMW X5 drives better, costs less and covers the same ground for a family of four. The Range Rover Sport is the more special thing to own and cleaner than its class on body history, at 53% against 65% expected for large SUVs of the same age and mileage in the UAE — but its bills are in another league.
